    Экспедиция на яхте Alter Ego открыла в Арктике новый пролив и остров

    Во время экспедиции в Арктику ученые с яхты Alter Ego» открыли два новых географических объекта. Как передает «СеверПост», во время обследования группы островов Белая Земля выяснилось, что их четыре, а не три, как ранее предполагали исследователи.

    Белая Земля находится на крайнем северо-востоке Земли Франца-Иосифа. Была открыта Нансеном в 1895 году. Группа включала в себя три острова — Ева-Лив с мысом Месяцева, Аделаиды и Фредена. Так они и были внесены в карты.

    Но 2 сентября 2018 года судно Alter Ego решила обследовать группу островов.

    «Воспользовавшись аномально лёгкой ледовой обстановкой, экспедиция решила обогнуть мыс Клюв. Судно проследовало вдоль северного берега острова Ева-Лив на восток. По участку, обозначенному на карте как полуостров Месяцева, судно прошло на малой скорости по минимальным глубинам 5–6 метров», - поясняют исследователи.

    Таким образом мыс Месяцева оказался отделн от острова Ева-Лив проливом. Экспедиция установила, что в группе четыре острова. Новый же пролив предлагается назвать по имени судна-первопроходца – проливом Альтер Эго.

    Яхта Alter Ego покинула Мурманск в июне этого года. В планах у ученых мониторинг популяции белой чайки, занесенной в Красную книгу, мечение морских птиц на островах Баренцева моря в рамках совместного российско-норвежского проекта МОРТРЭК, и исследование архипелага Земля Франца-Иосифа.
