In January-April 2019, port Kavkaz handled 6.764 million tonnes of cargo (-40%, year-on-year). According to statistics obtained by IAA PortNews regional correspondent from the port Authority, exports via the port’s offshore transshipment facility decreased by 31% to 2.446 million tonnes.
Exports from port Kavkaz surged 2.2 times to 488,000 tonnes while imports plunged by 46% to 22,000 tonnes, short-sea traffic – by 49% to 3.746 million tonnes.
Transshipment of coal grew 2.8 times to 1.411 million tonnes, sulfur – by 89% to 479,000 tonnes. Meanwhile, transshipment of grain dropped by 47% to 2.611 million tonnes, oil products – by 25% to 1.640 million tonnes, inert aggregate and ore – 3.9 times to 165,000 tonnes.
Bunker sales at port Kavkaz fell by 21% to 62,000 tonnes.
The number of calls to port Kavkaz fell 4.6 times to 1,780 calls.
