Baltic Fleet corvettes train to search for a submarine in the Norwegian Sea
A Baltic Fleet detachment made up of corvettes Boikiy and Stoikiy being on a long-distance mission trained to search for and engage a submarine in the Norwegian Sea, says press center of RF Defence Ministry.
In particular, the crews conducted planned exercises to search for, detect, maintain contact and track, as well as engage a hostile submarine using anti-submarine weapons.
Their crews also trained to repel air attacks from various altitudes and directions with firing air defence weapons.
The main objective of the voyage is to provide a naval presence and display the Russian Naval Ensign in various parts of the Atlantic Ocean.
