    Автономное судно Mayflower повторит историческое путешествие через Атлантику

    Безэкипажное судно в 2021 году отправится в двухнедельное плавание из Плимута (Англия) к берегам США

    Автономное, безэкипажное судно Mayflower повторит знаменитый рейс трехмачтового торгового галеона Mayflower, который в августе 1620 года вышел из гавани Плимута к берегам Америки с переселенцами из Англии на борту, передает BBC.

    Современное автономное судно Mayflower в ходе трансатлантического плавания будет собирать данные об океане и морской флоре, включая отбор проб пластмасс. Судно, управляемое роботом с программным обеспечением от IBM, перед двухнедельным плаванием через Атлантику к берегам США, запланированным на весну 2021 года, пройдет в течение шести месяцев ходовые испытания.

    Рейс Mayflower из Плимута в Кейп-Код (шт. Массачусетс) 400 лет назад длился более двух месяцев. Торговое судно перевозило на борту 102 пассажира и экипаж около 30 человек.

    Современное судно, изготовленное ProMare из алюминиевого композита, представляет собой тримаран, работающий на солнечных батареях, с резервным дизельным генератором и развивающий максимальную скорость 10 узлов.

    Тримаран оснащен лазерным эхолокатором, радаром, камерами, антеннами глобальной системы позиционирования (GPS)

    «Автономное судно Mayflower, способное сканировать горизонт на предмет возможных опасностей, принимать обоснованные решения и менять курс на основе сравнения с текущими данными, имеет больше общего с современным банком, вычислительным центром, чем его предшественник 17-го века», – считает главный технический директор IBM Энди Стэнфорд-Кларк.
