Latvia is interested in the development of economic cooperation with Ukraine as a maritime country, Ainars Shlesers, Latvia’s Minister of Transport, said Wednesday at the meeting with Josef Vinsky, Ukraine’s Minister of Transport and Communications, press center of Ukraine Ministry of Transport and Communications reports.
According to Mr. Shlesers, Latvia having three seaports is interested in the development of partnership relations with Ukraine especially as regards Ukrainien project of Viking cargo train running across the territories of Ukraine, Byelorussia and Lithuania.
Mr. Vinsky replied that Ukraine is open for cooperation. The parties decided to hold a detailed discussion of Latvia’s participant in Ukrainian project on the development of transport corridors Baltic Sea-Black Sea (intedepartmental agreement signed by Byelorussia, Ukraine and Lithuania is open for other countries) and arrange a meeting of a work group for consulting.
