Cargo turnover at Kaliningrad seaport down 24.5%, to 439.900 tons in January-February

In January-February 2010 Kaliningrad Sea Commercial Port (KSCP OJSC) had a 24.5-percent drop in freight volumes from the same period a year earlier, to 439.900 tons. Transshipment of ferrous metals shrank by 27%, to 217.1 thousand tons, of coal and coke - by 46.7%, to 28.500 tons, of petroleum products - by 18%, to 103.300 tons, the KSCP Authority statement said.

Kaliningrad Sea Commercial Port is the top regional port complex and transport hub for export-import traffic, passing through the area. Last year, the KSCP posted 2.186.100 tons of freight volumes handled at the port’s facilities.
