The explosion at Makhachkala railway was a terrorist attack

Investigations department of Makhachkala Transport Interior Ministry filed a criminal case under the Russian Criminal Code’s Article "Terrorist act" and "Illegal trafficking of explosives and explosive devices" over the explosion of a freight train occurred yesterday, ITAR-TASS reports citing the Interior Ministry’s Transport department at the North-Caucasian Railroad.

Earlier reports said an unidentified explosive went off while the freight train was on the Makhachkala-Port-Tarki route (Dagestan). As a result 14 cars and a locomotive derailed. At noon the railroad traffic resumed after a team of law enforcement agencies had completed this early morning investigative actions at the scene.
