Hong Kong-based box carrier Orient Overseas Container Line (OOCL) said it would introduce a winter surcharge for dry and reefer cargo sailing to/from or via the Russian Port of St Petersburg, according to ADPnews.
The surcharge will be effective from December 1, 2011 to April 30, 2012.
Shippers will pay an additional US$104 per TEU for eastbound or northbound cargo sailing to the port.
Further, a winter surcharge of $50 per container will be imposed for westbound and southbound cargo sailing from the Russian port.
