Logistics and terminal operator Modern Terminals Limited (MTL) has struck a deal with Qingdao Port Authority to develop a large scale container terminal in Dongjiakuo Port, Qingdao, capital city of Shandong province, NewsTrak Daily reported.
The total investment will amount to US$1.2 billion. The dock has a 20-kilometre coastal line, spanning land area of 38 square kilometres.
The project will build over 50 berths and the cargo throughput is expected to reach 20 million tonnes in 2015.
