Icebreaking fleet operations plan for Azov Sea to be considered on Nov 21

A meeting on organization of the icebreaking assistance in the Azov basin was slated for November 21, 2012 to be held in Rostov-on-Don, Federal Marine and River Transport Agency (Rosmorrechflot) told PortNews. The meeting will be discussing in details a range of issues related to the upcoming winter navigation.

Pursuant to the decision of the meeting of 29 May 2012 that reviewed the icebreakers operation during the 2011-2012 season in the Sea of Azov Rosmorrechflot has created, on the basis of the Rostov branch of FSI AMP Taganrog, a Unified Situation Center, which will be headquartered in Rostov.

The Center will have the state-of-the-art equipment to successfully handle all issues related to icebreaking operations in the region.
