Port Sabetta can influence the entire global logistics in the near future – Maxim Sokolov

Port Sabetta (Yamal peninsula) will be able to change regional logistics in the near future and, probably influence the logistic schemes globally, IAA PortNews correspondent cites RF Transport Minister Maxim Sokolov, as saying at the final extended meeting of the Board and the Public Council of Rosmorrechflot (Federal Marine and River Transport Agency).

When speaking at the meeting, Victor Olersky, Deputy Transport Minister – Head of Rosmorrechflot, said that annual cargo transportation by the Northern Sea Route is expected to exceed 20 mln t by 2020. 

Successful implementation of the Sabetta project will facilitate the interest of investors to the Arctic, said Victor Olersky.
