CTSP injects RUB 675m in port facilities upgrade in 9 months

JSC Container terminal Saint-Petersburg (CTSP, part of UCL Holding) in January-September, 2017 invested RUB 675 million in modernization of its port facilities, the stevedoring company said.

The bulk of spending (RUB 388.8 million) went on the expansion of the terminal operator’s handling equipment and the modernization of the terminal's technological equipment. Thanks to the nine-month upgrade programme CTSP has taken delivery of two Toyota 2.5-tonne forklift trucks, a Kalmar reach staker of lifting capacity of 45 tonnes. In addition, CTSP ordered two Konecranes RTG cranes.

More than 286.2 million rubles were spent on the development of port infrastructure, the expansion of CCTV and security of the terminal, the improvement of local IT infrastructure. In particular, CTSP ordered engineering of additional storm sewage treatment facilities and of a workshop for regular maintenance and repair of port equipment.

Container terminal Saint-Petersburg (member of UCL Port, a stevedoring division of the international transportation group UCL Holding) is a modern container handling facility located in the 4th Cargo Handling Area of Big Port St. Petersburg. In 2016 CTSP handled 557,800 TEUs.‎
