Bretagne’s replacement will be called Saint-Malo

The replacement will be a hybrid ship, powered by LNG and battery power

Her replacement will be called The Saint-Malo. This name was confirmed at a press conference held in France on 31 May 2022, with president Jean-Marc Roué alongside Loïg Chesnais-Girard, president of the region of Brittany and Gilles Lurton, mayor and president of Saint-Malo, Brittany Ferries said Wednesday in a press release.

Brittany Ferries' Bretagne launched in 1989 will continue to serve until 2025.

Bretagne’s replacement will be a hybrid ship. She will be powered by cleaner LNG, by battery power or by a combination of the two.
