The Los Angeles Harbour Commission today approved a landmark Clean Truck Programme (CTP) designed to achieve long-term sustainability, accelerate the replacement of high-polluting trucks with cleaner trucks, and incentives to encourage private investment and create a capitalised, asset-based short-haul trucking or *drayage* system at the nation*s largest container port.
The ports believe the move will reduce port-related truck emissions by 80 percent over the next four years.
