Oleg Kozhemyako, Governor of the Primorsky Territory

On development of shipbuilding and ship repair in the Primorsk Territory

    - In the coming months the Ministry of Agriculture and the Russian Federal Fisheries Agency will hold a crab quotas auction and the solution that allowed to load the plants in the West of the country should be expanded to the Far East with the application of the following principle “shipbuilding in the area of catching”. That is about construction of 30 mid-size ships of up to 50 meters long that can be built by our shipyards involving investment quotas ...

The main purpose is to get the shipbuilding industry off the ground in the Far East as it is a catalyst element for the development of related sectors. It should involve the entire engineering potential, create new jobs and tax base.
