VCT’s throughput up 51% in Jan-May, to 108,371 TEUs
Container volume of Vladivostok Container Terminal (VCT, part of FESCO Transport Group) in January-May 2010 totaled 108,371 TEUs, a 51-percent surge from the same period in 2009, the VCT marketing department said.
In May 2010 Vladivostok Terminal handled 24,587 containers, or a 14-percent gain as compared with April container volume, and a 74-percent spike over last year’s May.
This May VCT transshipped 9,24 TEUs of outbound containerized cargo, 7,865 TEUs of imports, and 7,698 TEUs of short sea trade. The monthly number of vessels handled at the terminal totaled 44 ships, or 4 units more than in April. Average turnover per vessel amounted to 559 TEUs.
