Tallink boosts passenger traffic by 5.7%, to 694,000 passengers
Estonian shipping company Tallink has increased the volume of passenger traffic in May to 694,000 passengers, a 5.7-percent rise over the same period a year earlier, DV.EE reports citing the Tallink statement.
Autos cargo shipment rose by 12.5%, trucks – by 12%, the company said.
According to Q3 financial year results (ended May 31st), the company transported 2,156,448 passengers, a 17.9-percent gain from the same period a year earlier. Tallink transported 13.7% more passenger cars and 14.1% more trucks vs last financial year’s numbers.
Tallin-based Tallink shipping company acquired in 2006 Finnish Silja Line, once a major rival of Tallink, with following merger of Tallink and Silja Line into Tallink Silja Oy Ab. The company currently operates its fleet of 21 ships. The company operates on the Baltic Sea service line carrying passengers to Finland, Sweden, Estonia, Latvia and Germany.
