APL joins Indamex vessel-sharing agreement
Container carrier APL entered a vessel-sharing agreement with Hapag-Lloyd, CMA CGM, NYK Line and Orient Overseas Container Line on the India-America-Express Service, effective this month.
The Singapore-based carrier will phase in one vessel on the fixed-day weekly service, ending its existing slot-charter arrangements with the consortium partners.

The Indamex, connecting key ports in the Indian subcontinent, the Mediterranean and the U.S. East Coast, will now operate with seven vessels of around 4,250 20-foot equivalent units capacity, with Hapag-Lloyd and CMA CGM deploying two vessels each and the other three carriers contributing one each.
The port rotation is Karachi, Nhava Sheva (Jawaharlal Nehru), Mundra, Damietta, New York, Norfolk, Savannah, Charleston, Port Said, Jeddah, and back to Karachi.
The first vessel under the new VSA will be the APL Chile, expected to call Nhava Sheva on June 20.
