Odessa Port to add a new asset to its handling facilities
Reconstruction of container terminal that began this April at the port of Odessa (Ukraine) is expected to be completed in three years, the press service of the Ukraine Ministry of Transport and Communications said. The construction works, dredging and excavation have been carried out at the site of 19.3 hectares.
The construction of new facilities at the port of Odessa is conducted according to the order of the Cabinet of Ministers of Ukraine dated 7 October 2009 N1293-p. The Government of Ukraine approved the general investment agreement between the state-run Odessa Commercial Sea Port and HPC Ukraine’s subsidiary, HPC Hamburg Port Consulting GmbH – for reconstruction of the container terminal. The total estimated project cost is reported at 4,443,895.63 hryvnia. The projected complex capacity – 600,000 TEUs, one-time storage capacity - up to 16,000 TEUs. The complex project includes building of two berths.
