Rosmorport projects a checkpoint at Ust-Luga port
Federal State Unitary Enterprise Rosmorport invites bids for contract (worth more than 266 million rubles) for arrangement of a checkpoint at the port of Ust-Luga (Leningrad region). The checkpoint will be constructed at the site of container terminal. The tender winner will be announced at the end of July 2010, Rosmorport press service said.
Ust-Luga Company, implementing the new seaport project at the Luga Bay of the Finland Gulf, said that the first stage of container terminal is scheduled to be launched in 2011. The first phase terminal will be able to accommodate vessels with a capacity of 2,500 TEUs. After commissioning of the second phase the terminal, with two 600-m-long, 16.5-m-deep berths, will be able to handle 6,000 TEUs container carriers. The Ust-Luga terminal facilities will be put be put into operation in three consecutive stages. The 2nd and 3rd phases are projected to be launched in 2014 and in 2019 accordingly.
