Rolf SCS to launch a warehouse at St. Petersburg port in Q3
Rolf SCS, a leading Russian logistics operator, supplying automobiles and auto parts is going to launch a customs warehouse in the 3rd quarter this year on the territory of Petrolesport, a stevedore of the Big Port of St. Petersburg, RBC Daily reports citing Rolf SCS logistics CEO Marc Brenneiser’s interview with journalists.
Three weeks ago, Mr. Brenneiser said, the Federal Customs Service (FCS) gave the company the green light to open a customs warehouse at the Petrolesport yard. The company has launched earlier its first storage facility in St. Petersburg.
In contrast to the temporary storage warehouse (TSW) the customs warehouse may store cars without customs clearance for up to three years.
Two years ago Rolf SCS acquired the exclusive rights to import new cars through the port terminal, a Global Ports’ asset (N-Trance’s part).
The first-phase warehouse’s capacity is projected for storage of 1000 automobiles. This year, Rolf SCS will invest some $5m in the development of its terminal infrastructure in St. Petersburg. The funds will be spent for further development of its facility at the Petrolesport yard, and for another Rolf SCS’ asset acquired in 2007, a ‘dry’ terminal for storage of 300 cars near Peterhoff highway.
