North-Caucasian Railroad (SKZD, a Russian Railways’ branch) handled 18.4 million tons of export-import cargoes in five straight months, the company’s press service said.

Volume of crude, grain cargoes and coal fueled a 38-percent rise in five consecutive months, over 2 million tons handled by NC Railroad at the port of Tuapse.
Steel and coal volume led in a 63-percent surge, 534,000 tons transshipped at the port of Yeisk, the Railroad press release said.
The Kiziterinka railyard, Rostov port has seen a 159-percent jump in cargo volume, 144,000 tons, largely coal volume.
Year-to-date, the Azov Port’s railyard transshipped 426,000 tons, 94% more than in Jan-May, 2009.
In the five recent months, 356,000 tons, mainly sulfur, were loaded/offloaded at the Ust-Donetsk port’s station, 4 times as much growth over the same period of 2009.
