Russian FCS stops a smuggle traffic channel
General Contraband Directorate of the Federal Customs Service has detected and stopped the activity of a criminal group specialized in the smuggling of instant coffee and drainage equipment, worth more than 30 million rubles, the FCS press office said.
The criminal group, including citizens of one of the Baltic republics and Russia, allegedly established several dummy firms in the Moscow region and one in the Russia’s North-West District, the FCS press release said. On behalf of these bogus companies the suspects signed foreign trade contracts with non-existent foreign firms. Then the group prepared faked shipping documents, and moved eight consignments to the bogus Russian companies.
The law enforcement agency carried out an operation to thwart the smugglers activity.
The investigation is underway. Three citizens of the RF have been detained. A criminal case was opened (paragraph 4 of Article 188 of the Criminal Code), the FCS reported.
