Throughput of Ventspils port to decline by 10% in 2008 - Vice Mayor of Ventspils
The port of Ventspils (Latvia) plans to handle 28 million tonnes of cargo in 2008 (-9.8%, year-on-year), BNS learnt from Vice Mayor of Ventspils Janis Vitolins, Interfax reports according to Gudok.
Mr. Vitolins earlier said the decrease should be attributed to lower transshipment of potassium salt and crude oil. In 2007, the port’s throughput grew by 6.8%, year-on-year, to 31.037 million tonnes.
