Maersk cuts US-SA fuel fees
Maersk Line announced plans to lower bunker surcharges imposed earlier on cargo moving on its servic es between the United States/Canada and the West Coast of South America.
Effective Nov. 1, the surcharges will be $310 per TEU and $620 per FEU, down from $385 and $770 levied earlier, the carrier said in a notice to the trade.
In a separate notice, the Danish carrier said it plans to implement a similar fuel fee reduction for the trade to and from the United States/Canada, Central America and the Caribbean, also effective Nov. 1.
The revised surcharges will be $200 per TEU and $400 per FEU compared with $400 and $800 imposed earlier.
