Stella Lines closes down service to St Petersburg
The Finnish shipping company Stella Naves Russia Oy Ltd, that operates ferry traffic under the name Stella Lines, has closed down the ferry service between Helsinki and St. Petersburg. The traffic started in the beginning of August 2008 with the Finnish flagged ferry Julia, that was bought from Color Line. The Julia is now laid up in Kotka.
It was mainly problems with financing of operational costs that led to the decision to close down the service. Stella Lines is now planning to employ the vessel in some kind of cruise traffic.
