A.P. Moller-Maersk Group and IBM sign five year agreement
IBM, an IT technology company, announced on 14 October the signing of a five year agreement with the A.P. Moller-Maersk Group to provide the shipping group with a scalable, dedicated security focus to help them ensure compliance and control of a secure communications infrastructure across their extended organisation.
The deal, for an Internet Security Systems (ISS) deployment, is reported to be worth USD7.5m. As a major transportation company with a wide range of additional business areas making up the company's portfolio a highly scalable, dedicated security focus is of vital importance for AP Moller-Maersk to ensure compliance and control of a secure communications infrastructure, according to IBM.
The ISS agreement enables A.P. Moller-Maersk to bring together all aspects of their security portfolio into a pre-emptive security solution comprising of robust configuration changes to their existing technologies and to provide a managed security services environment.
