Ningbo-Zhoushan port channel takes first 283,000-tonne ship
Eastern China's Ningbo-Zhoushan Port recently received the 283,000-tonne tanker Xinjinyang, which marks the increased capacity of the port's sailing channel to 300,000 tonnes, Xinhua reported.
This was the trial run of the new channel after its capacity has been upgraded. Zhejiang province's maritime safety administration authority sent a special force that day to monitor traffic there while Ningbo and Zhoushan's local maritime safety department sent escort ships to accompany the Xinjinyang.
