In St. Petersburg decisions on simplification of stevedoring companies operation made
In the territory of St. Petersburg oil terminal (PNT) on Thursday a meeting under chairmanship of the minister of transport of the Russian Federation Igor Levitin was held. The session was devoted to summarizing of work of stevedoring companies of the sea port of St. Petersburg in 2008 and prospects of development of the port in the next year in conditions of the approaching crisis, informs PNT press-service.
In particular, the following issues were discussed: port fees and berths rental rates, influence of commissioning of the Western high-speed diameter on increase of throughput of stevedoring companies working in the Big port of St. Petersburg, and also necessary measures to increase competitiveness of St. Petersburg sea port to other ports on the Baltic Sea.
At the session a number of decisions concerning simplification of work of stevedoring companies and increase of competitiveness of Russian ports were accepted.
