DP World opens upgraded terminal at Port of Dakar
Dubai-based global marine terminal operator DP World has officially opened the expanded and upgraded Terminal a Conteneur at the Port of Dakar, Senegal, reported ADPNews.
The facility was modernised by DP World Dakar under a concession agreement sealed in 2007. After the upgrade, the terminal’s capacity has risen to more than 600,000 TEUs, compared with less than 300,000 TEUs previously.
DP World's chairman Sultan Ahmed Bin Sulayem, who attended the inauguration ceremony, said the expansion and upgrade of the terminal had turned it into the most modern and efficient one in western Africa.
