Rosterminalugol terminal handles largest ever bulker
The Piera dry bulk carrier moored at the terminal of Rosterminalugol in Ust-Luga on December 4 to take on board 83,356 tons of coal, the stevedore company said.
Recently completed dredging at the terminal enabled Rosterminalugol to accommodate the first vessel with draft of 14.3 meters. The depths were increased from 13.7m to 14.3 m at Berth #2 and from 12.2 m to 12.7 m – at Berth #1.
JSC Rosterminalugol was established in 1996 to build and operate the coal terminal at Port of Ust-Luga. The terminal’s projected annual capacity is 8 million tons of coal. Rosterminalugol specializes in loading / unloading operations, freight forwarding services, building and maintenance of facilities at the coal terminal. The company also provides insurance services for goods and property, the risks of transactions at Ust-Luga port. The terminal has two berths of total length of 540 meters and depth of 14 meters. The terminal can handle vessels with length of 240 m and breadth of 32.2 m. In 2010, coal exports from the terminal rose nearly 6% to 7.5 million tons.
