Sea Port St.Pb, Universal Forwarder handle heavy lift for Severstal and MMK
A team of experts of JSC Sea Port St. Petersburg (MP St. Pb) and Universal Forwarder handled successfully imported heavy-lift equipment, the stevedore company said on Friday.
The heavy lift cargo, two rolls for steel rolling mill 227 tons each, was delivered by the MV Kapitan Kuroptev from Hamburg.
With the use of the Bogatyr floating crane of lifting capacity of 300 tons, the team transshipped the rolls from the ship onto a special railway platform at Berth # 39, the second one - to a tractor-trailer truck. The heavy loads were hauled to Magnitogorsk Iron & Steel Works and to Kolpino, a branch of JSC Severstal. Logistics provider Universal Forwarder ensured delivery of the cargo to the final destination.
