Storm delays passenger ships call at Port of St. Petersburg
Large vessels, including the Princess Anastasia ferry cannot enter the port of St. Petersburg, St. Peter Line said. The Princess Anastasia with 1252 passengers (781 Russian nationals and 371 foreigners) and 209 crew members on board stay at anchorage and can not enter the port of St. Petersburg because of the storm.
The Directorate of Protective Structures ordered to close the navigation pass C1 in violation of established procedure and without appropriate notification about the decision of the Harbormaster. This has impacted the cruise schedule, the service operator ST. PETER LINE said.
There are nearly ten large vessels trapped by the storm, waiting for call at the port of St. Petersburg, ITAR-TASS reported.
