Emirates Shipping Line increases rates to East Africa
Emirates Shipping Line is seeking to raise box rates to East Africa, Seatrade Asia online reports. The Hong Kong-based line announced a general rate increase of $250 per from 1 March on all shipments from the Middle East to East Africa.
The move follows an announcement in the previous week that Emirates would be increasing rates from the Far East and Southeast Asia to East Africa by $250 per teu on 1 March and a further $250 per teu on 1 April.
