Egyptian cargo ship sinks in Mediterranean, 3 missing
Three Egyptians have been missing after a cargo ship sank Monday in the Mediterranean Sea, the state MENA news agency reported.
The ship capsized off the Cypriot coasts mainly due to bad weather, said the report. Seven of the 10 crew members of the ship have been rescued on the sea, but the three others remained missing, said Rizk.
The cargo ship owned by Egypt's Moro Company capsized in the morning en route from the northern Egyptian port city of Alexandria to Latakia harbor in Syria, said the report. According to Egypt's Assistant Foreign Minister for Consular Affairs Ahmed Rizk, the Egyptian embassy in Nicosia was informed by the Cypriot authorities of the accident.
