Kalmar to supply six RTGs to the Italy's Port of Livorno
CARGOTEC's Kalmar unit has received two orders to supply its E-One rubber tyre gantry (RTG) cranes to Terminal Darsena Toscana (Contshipitalia Group) in the Port of Livorno, near Leghorn, Italy, said a company statement.
The first two RTGs will be there before New Year's and the other four will arrive this summer, said a Cargotec statement. All will be fitted with Smartrail(r) autosteering and container position verification systems. The RTGs are low-emission diesel powered machines with an all-electric trolley, wheel turning and spreader.
Livorno is a multipurpose port on the Tyrrhenian Sea handling 20 million tons of goods a year, Livorno also moves bulk liquids and solids, motor vehicles, cellulose pulp and timber, general cargo, minerals and iron manufacturing products, cereals, fruit and frozen products.
Terminal Darsena Toscana is Livorno's largest container operator with an annual throughput of 600,000 TEU.
