Special attention to be paid to Russia’s IWW in the nearest future – Deputy Transport Minister
Special attention will be paid to the development of Russia’s inland waterways in the nearest future, PortNews IAA reporter quotes Russia’s Deputy Transport Minister Oleg Belozerov as saying at XIII St. Petersburg International Economic Forum.
“Special program for inland waterways is currently being implemented in Russia. As of today they make some 100,000 km. To improve ecological situation, special attention will be paid to the development of inland waterways,” he said.
As it was reported earlier, RF Transportation Ministry published the draft Concept on reforming management system of Russia’s inland waterways. The document sets goals, tasks and mechanisms to implement national policy on the development of Russia’s inland waterways’ management system. The document is yet to be considered at the meeting of the RF Government.
