NOL's year-to-date revenue down 7pc, but volume up 7pc
Singaporean transportation company NOL says that its liner division APL handled 167,000 FEU during the four weeks from October 21 to November 17, an increase of 13 per cent over the same period last year.During this time, average revenue per FEU declined 12 per cent to US$2,559 per FEU, down from $2,912 per FEU for the corresponding period a year ago. Year-to-date (YTD) average revenue per FEU declined seven per cent year on year to $2,644 per FEU.
However, year-to-date container volumes were up seven per cent compared to the same period in 2005 to 1,851,800 FEU. With regard to the company's logistics business unit, total revenue during the four-week reporting period declined by nine per cent over 2005 to $101.50 million, which raised year-to-date revenue to $1.16 billion, a two per cent increase over the corresponding period last year. Within the logistics segment, revenue from contract logistics services fell by nine per cent during the four-week period to $67.70 million, while revenue from international services decreased by seven per cent year on year to $33. 80 million, a company statement said.
