Ukrainian Parliament relieves Vinskyi from post of Transport and Communications Minister
Verkhovna Rada has relieved Iosyp Vinskyi from the post of the Transport and Communications Minister.
365 deputies voted for the corresponding draft regulations No. 4687, while only 226 votes were necessary for its approval.
In particular, the bill was backed by 159 deputies from the Party of Regions faction, 148 from the Yulia Tymoshenko Bloc faction, 12 of the Our Ukraine People's Self-Defense Bloc faction, 27 from the Communist Party faction, and 19 from the Lytvyn Bloc faction.
Thus, Rada dismissed Vinskyi based on the Cabinet of Ministers' suggestion.
With only two deputies having voted for the corresponding decision, Rada refused to dismiss Vinskyi on the basis of his own letter of resignation.
As Ukrainian News earlier reported, Vinskyi handed in his notice on June 17.
Prime Minister Yulia Tymoshenko said on June 15 that Transport and Communications Minister Iosyp Vinskyi was intending to run for president. She also exposed his alleged plans to use UAH 15 million of the state company Ukrposhta on his campaign.
The Minister denied this.
