Murmansk Hub project obtains State Expert approval
The project on comprehensive development of Murmansk Transportation Hub has obtained the State Expert approval, IAA PortNews learnt from Ilya Gudkov, head of Rostransmodernizatsia FGI. According to him, the State Exper Commission has not approved a number of measures aimed at redyction of the project value so the initial price of the tender for the development of detailed design and construction of Murmansk Transportation Hub has been increased to RUB 43,491,699,027.
Initial contract price announced earlier was RUB 40,237,536,000.
The project on comprehensive development of Murmansk Transportation Hub has been included into the Federal special-purpose programme “Development of Russia’s Transport System (2010-2015)”. According to the document, the project implies the construction of several terminals for transshipment of coal, containers, crude and oil products, development of a storage and distribution zone as well as a logistic center. Railway infrastructure development implies the construction of Vykhodnoy-Lavna line, ten railway stations and parks, reconstruction of four stations and development of highway infrastructure in Murmansk.
Under the project, there will be built a deep-water sea hub with round-the-year navigation. It will be a center for transshipment of containers, oil cargo, coal and mineral fertilizers integrated into the international North-South transport corridor.
Rostransmodernizatsia FGI is a state customer of a number of infrastructure projects including the construction of the new dry cargo district at Taman seaport (Krasnodar territory), project for the development of Murmansk Transportation Hub and project for the development of railway hub Vostochny-Nakhodka (Primorsk territory).
