RZD suggests 11.4% tariffs on freight railway transportation growth in 2010
RZD offers to increase tariffs on freight railway transportation by 11.4% in 2010, and state subsidies should be kept, said Vladimir Yakunin, President of OAO Russian Railways.
“We suggested 11.4% tariff increase if 50% subsidies are kept,” he said.
In 2009 the approved average tariff growth was 8% instead of 14% as it had been planned earlier. To compensate for OAO RZD’s losses from smaller tariff increase, the state gave Russian Railways a subsidy of 50 bln roubles.
