Intermodal Asia 2014 to focus on 'reefer' market
The use of refrigerated or ‘reefer’ containers is increasing each year, according to reports, and reefer containers will be a focus during the inaugural Intermodal Asia 2014 exhibition and conference from 1-3 April at the Shanghai World Expo Center, the event organizer's press release said.
A Container Forum will take place on day two of the three day event (Wednesday 2 April), in the Innovation Theatre, during which there will be a dedicated session focussed on reefer containers.
A number of companies exhibiting at Intermodal Asia 2014 will be from the reefer container market or serving the market. Reefer related exhibitors will include: Shanghai CIMC Reefer Containers Co., Ltd; Taicang CIMC Reefer Logistics Equipment Co.,Ltd; Daikin Industries Ltd; Carrier Transicold Division; Qingdao CIMC Reefer Container Manufacture Co., Ltd; Emerson Climate Technologies and Qingdao Xin Sanly Reefer Container Technical Co., Ltd
Intermodal Asia 2014 is organised by Informa Exhibitions (the organiser of Intermodal Europe) in joint partnership with China’s leading container association, the CCIA (China Container Industry Association). This new event will also benefit from the full support of CIMC (China International Marine Containers (Group) Co., Ltd.), which is the world’s largest container manufacturer and is also the chairman member company of the CCIA.
“With the reefer market in a state of continual growth, it is important to include a focus on reefer containers at Intermodal Asia 2014” says Sophie Ahmed, Event Director of Intermodal Asia. “All the high profile conference sessions provide the opportunity to bring together the top industry leaders to discuss topics that affect the container shipping market today.”
The free-to-attend conference sessions held during Intermodal Asia will be held in both Mandarin and English and will take place in the Strategy Theatre and the Innovation Theatre.
“Intermodal Asia 2014 will provide a platform for companies within the reefer market to meet and discuss current reefer trends and share the latest innovations” adds Event Director, Sophie Ahmed.
The conference sessions during the Container Forum will look at various containers, including reefers, smart containers, tank containers and environmental, or green, innovation in containers. There will also be conference sessions looking at container design and construction, including some technology focussed sessions. Additional topics covered during the container forum will include paints, flooring, container tracking and innovation in the container industry.
A selection of containers will be on display in the container park outside the entrance to Intermodal Asia 2014, including a selection of the latest reefer containers, tank containers and large containers.
