    DP World sets up new industry standards at Jebel Ali Port

    DP World is setting new industry standards at Jebel Ali Port in Dubai, and we are proud of those UAE Nationals who are leading this transformation into a new era of marine operations and container handling , says HE Sultan Ahmed bin Sulayem, the company said in its press release.

    The DP World Chairman was welcoming the appointment of Esam Khoory , Director of Jebel Ali ’s brand - new Container Terminal 3 (T3) , now in its final commissioning stage to officially receive its first commercial vessel.

    HE Sultan Ahmed bin Sulayem, Chairman, DP World, said: “ Esam is a fine example of a hardworking and capable Emirati leader rising to the challenge of a new exciting era in his chosen industry. DP World has invested in building the industry experience and corporate leadership skills in a grow ing number of talented Emiratis, including Esam, who are now working in senior roles across our international portfolio of marine terminals . In his new role, Esam , together with his colleagues in Jebel Ali operations team, are raising the industry standards , transforming container handling and marine terminal operations with automation and technology driven operations. We are proud of them. “

    Jebel Ali is one of the world’s most modern technology driven facilities of its kind, and Dubai will be home to the world’s most advanced maritime terminal.” Mohammed Al Muallem, Senior Vice President & Managing Director , DP World, UAE R egion, said: “ Totally committed to DP World, Esam has had Jebel Ali in his DNA for nearly two decades. Prior to his new appointment, he was Director of Procurement and Material Management department at DP World UAE Region.

    Esam Khoory, Director, Container Terminal 3, said: “ For 19 years , I have lived the development of terminal operations at Jebel Ali, but , with the state - of - the - art sophisticated equipment and fully automated procedures at Terminal 3, we are offering something totally new. For one who knows very well the DP World culture of innovation, and where it is coming from , I am so excited to be part of the team of Emiratis setting a new industry standard at Jebel Ali . ” Terminal 3 will add 4 m illion TEU capacity , taking total capacity at Jebel Ali to 19 million TEU, once fully operational in 2015.
