Meeting hosted by Port of Gdansk Authority focused on broadly-conceived area of maritime economy
On 27 January 2015, the main office of the Port of Gdansk Authority SA hosted a meeting of the Pomeranian Council of Entrepreneurship (PCE) affiliated to the Marshal of the Pomeranian Region, PGA says in its press release. The Council is comprised of advisers and experts in various areas determining the economic growth of our region. The session, which was chaired by Marshal Mieczyslaw Struk, was additionally attended by delegates representing the Ministry of Economy and the Ministry of Infrastructure and Development, and also by representatives of the port authorities of Gdansk and Gdynia, including President Dorota Raben and President Janusz Jarosinski.
The choice of a meeting venue in the main office of the Port of Gdansk Authority SA, which represents businesses operating on the port's premises, emphasizes the pivotal role played by the ports in the development of Gdansk Pomerania.
The Pomeranian Council of Entrepreneurship is comprised of 37 member organisations such as employers' associations, chambers of craft industries, regional and trade chambers of industry and commerce, business clubs, local economic governments, professional business associations, regional development agencies and other business support institutions. PCE's operations are based on the voluntary community work of its members.
The meeting of the PCE consisted of two parts; the first one focused on the broadly-conceived area of maritime economy and the relevant submitted proposals of smart specialisations in the Pomeranian Region. The port authorities of Gdansk and Gdynia presented their respective development plans. The Council madea resolution on addressing the Ministry of Economy with a request to include a separate specialisation regarding maritime economy in the framework of national smart specialisations. The second part of the meeting discussed changes in the rules of procedure of the Pomeranian Council of Entrepreneurship, and terms and conditions of the competition for the prize of the "Pomeranian Griffin 2015" awarded annually by the Pomeranian Council of Entrepreneurship to the outstanding companies in our region.
