Freight traffic by Arkhangelsk Railroad via the seaport up 1.9 times, 95.400 tons this January

Arkhangelsk Branch of the North Railroad (NR, a branch of Russian Railways) reported for January 2010 95.4 tons of commodities carried through the Arkhangelsk Commercial Sea Port. The company’s statistics show an increase was as much as 1.9 times over the same period a year earlier.

In January 2010 the AR transported 47.400 tons of exports via the port’s terminal. Of overall export volumes coal shipments totaled 44.900 tons, timber cargo - 0.3 thousand tons. Imported cargoes were at 46.700 tons. Volumes of inbound metal reached 26.500 tons and alumina – 20.100 tons.

Russian North Railroad is a branch of RZD, Russian Railways JSC. The North Railroad’s operational length is 5.951.7 km. The NR integrates Arkhangelsk, Vologda, Solvychegodsk, Sosnogorsk and Yaroslavl railroads. The company’s rail network area is intersected by Ukhta-Yaroslavl-Kirishi and Surgut-Yaroslavl-Polotsk trunk pipelines.
