In the waters of Novorossiysk Commercial Sea Port oil spots were detected by environmental monitoring service near the berths N 26, 20. The February 19 report said the oil debris might leak from the storm water sewer. A 30x30-m size oil patch drifted towards the berth N28, the regional Rosprirodnadzor press service reported.

Investigation into the oil spill case is conducted by Novorossiysk Department for Supervision on the sea of the Department of Rosprirodnadzor in the Southern Russia. The Novorossiysk port emergency response team has been collecting the petroleum waste products, the report said.
