Ukrainian Danube Shipping Company (UDS OJSC) reported it had decreased its net loss in 2009 to 37.990.000 hryvnia (about $4.75 million), or 1.72 times down from 65.369.000 hryvnia posted in 2008, "The Transport Business" reported citing the Ukrainian State Committee on Securities and Stock Market.

Net income from sales of products (goods, works and services) for the reporting period decreased from 482.221.000 hryvnia to 401. 321.000 hryvnia. Gross profit increased from 3.377.000 hryvnia to 13.946.000 hryvnia.

Danube Shipping OJSC is the largest shipping company in Ukraine. The DSC operates the fleet of universal and specialized river and seagoing vessels and passenger cruisers.
