VTM System launched to ensure safe navigation in the Aniva Bay

RosTransNadzor Commission jointly with the Federal Agency of sea and river transport, RosMorPort, Norfes and Sakhalin Port Authority conducted tests (Feb.16-19) to see the options of The Vessel Traffic Management and Information Systems (VTMIS) developed by TRANSAS. The VTM System tests showed good results and will be put into operation to ensure the safety of ships navigation in the Gulf Bay, the Rostransnadzor report said.
 
Aniva – a Bay of the Okhotsk Sea is located at the southern end of Sakhalin Island, between the Krilon and Tonin-Aniv peninsulas. The Bay is 104 km in width and 90 km in length. Its maximum depth is 93 m. There are the Korsakov seaport and Prigorodnoye production facilities (LNG plant and an oil transshipment terminal) located at the Bay.
