East Siberian Railroad invests 2.8b rubles to boost traffic via Kuzbass – Far East transport hub

East-Siberian Railway has allocated 2.8 billion rubles for investments in the reconstruction project of the Kuzbass - Far Eastern Transport Hub. The money will be spent this year to upgrade base stations and implement new technologies, East Siberian Railroad press release said.

The project will continue the reconstruction of the station Irkutsk-Sorting. The ESR will spent for these purposes more than 640 million rubles. The company will transfer over 530 million rubles for the technical renovation of stations Taishet, Telman and Taltsy. Other stations facilities will be also upgraded, the press release said.

The company authorities believe the project will help boosting the throughput of the East-Siberian Railroad and accordingly freight traffic volume via the transport corridor Kuzbass - the Far East.
