All customs procedures to be removed from Russian-Belarusian border by mid-summer this year

There will be no procedure of customs clearance and control left at the Russian-Belarusian border before July 1st, 2010, PRIME-TASS reports quoting Vladimir Ivin, the chief of analytical department of the Federal Customs Service (FCS) of Russia. The statement was made at the conference "The new in the customs legislation: theory and practice".

He also added the negotiations had been underway with the Kazakhstan customs officials over the customs procedures on the Russo-Kazakh border that could be left after July 1st. Mr. Ivin does not rule out that the same regulation regime might be implemented at the Russo-Kazakh border as in the Russia-Belarus case.
